My Neighbor Totoro The Visual Art Book Image Boards Hayao Miyazaki Vol. 3

An “image board” is an essential part of director Hayao Miyazaki’s creative process. It is created to explore the world of the film he is about to make and to share that vision with the production staff.

The image boards are primarily scanned from original drawings using high-precision scanners, aiming to faithfully reproduce the colors, textures, and nuances of the original artwork.

This collection includes high-quality reproductions of images previously featured in related publications, as well as many unpublished works.

Also included is a new interview with producer Toshio Suzuki, who shares anecdotes and the background stories behind the creation of the artwork. In the interview, Suzuki remarks about My Neighbor Totoro, “Isao Takahata said, ‘This is the pinnacle of what Miyazaki-san and I aimed for.’”
